The Pulsar Story
Pulsar by Seiko Holdings Corporation. A spectacular breakthrough Pulsar was born in an age of optimism. In the 1970's, everything seemed achievable through the rapidly growing technological expertise at the world's fingertips. Space flight had been converted from dream to reality, computer science was developing at break neck speed and electronics seemed to deliver new advances every day. Pulsar symbolized the age. It was new and it was bold, it was surprising and it was different. Pulsar, the world's first electronic digital watch, created a sensation when it was unveiled in New York in 1972 and it changed the world's perception of time. A tradition of difference When the brand was taken into the Seiko Corporation in 1980, it brought further surprises to the world; the first calculator watch in 1980 and the first all-quartz watch line in 1981 were among its industry-leading achievements. And throughout the '80's and 90's Pulsar continued to bring to market new products that were born to be different. The Avant-garde collection in 1980's set a new style in women's watches and Spoon in 1990's were unique designs which further cemented Pulsar's image as an ingenious and surprising watchmaker. Towards a modernist future Today, Pulsar remains loyal to its heritage. It was born to be different and it will remain so. Each Pulsar watch has the hint of the futurism and modernity that have always been its hallmark. Pulsar is a brand for the individual who appreciates real value and seeks quality with individuality and flair.

Not the the best for that price September 4, 2010 Bob Johnson (Brooklyn, NY) This watch is heavy for 40 millimeters in diameter. Black plating on the band scratches easily and I work in the office. The main disadvantage of this watch that it designed with crown set too close to the wrist, so it is constantly scratches and makes impressions on the skin. (Take a look at the picture how low it set) I have sent PL8002 to Pulsar (Seiko) and their jeweler said that it is design of the watch and sent the watch back (I was not charged for that). Luminous hands and marks did not glow in the dark for long.
Very Nice July 28, 2010 Robert Kruckenberg (OKC, OK) After a few months of ownership, I have really grown to like this watch. The design is what caught my eye, and it has earned me several compliments from other people as I have worn it. I don't have any scratches yet, but I mostly wear it on Sundays when it is least likely to get abused.
Can't say much more than that; this watch is BEAUTIFUL!
Great watch May 19, 2010 setldown (Kenosha, WI USA) This is a great looking watch for the money. When it arrived it was DOA (dead on arrival). Nothing worked. After the shock subsided I decided to get a new battery before sending it back. Yep that was the problem. Works great now. My understanding is this is a 2008 model and the battery is good for two years. So if it's been running in the box you too will probably need a new battery. Minus 1 star for that.
Nice watch. March 7, 2010 William E. Liberatore (Yorkville, Ohio USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am very happy with this watch so far. It is very sharp. The only oddity for me was that the large "second hand" is actually a stop watch hand and the smaller top round "clock" is the real seconds. This meant that when I first received the watch every time I looked at it I thought that it had stopped because the second hand (really the stop watch hand) wasn't moving, but once you get used to that it's fine. Overall I am really happy with the purchase.
Gorgeous watch! July 23, 2008 Michelle Reckner (Kentucky) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I would say gorgeous watch for the money, but this watch is just plain gorgeous. I got it for my husband for his birthday, to match his titanium wedding band, and it makes quite a statement. It's a pretty good sized watch, and feels very well made. The black plating seems very durable (he's pretty hard on jewelry) and has held up nicely. He's very happy with the watch, and at the price we paid, it was a steal.
